Journaling and Therapy & Counselling: some tools to help you manage your grief
We often get asked what tools we recommend to help individuals and families to manage their grief. Whilst it is a very natural part of the healing process, it can feel extremely tough to cope with and is a highly personal experience. It is often associated with a range of emotions, from anger to sadness, to guilt and shock. It has no set timeline and no clear path, so it is important to be kind to yourself at such a challenging time and to surround yourself with the right people and support.
Here are two of our top recommendations:
Journaling
Keeping a grief journal can be a therapeutic way to express emotions and thoughts. Writing about your feelings, or memories of the person that has died can lead to some clarity and can help to open up conversations that may otherwise be left unspoken. Journaling can help you to process your grief and track your emotional journey over time.
Therapy & Counselling
Seeking professional help from a counsellor can provide you with the tools and strategies to navigate your grief journey. They can help you process your emotions, identify coping mechanisms, and work through complex feelings.
