Principal Funeral Director (PFD)
Working as part of the Management team, the Principal Funeral Director will lead local teams to provide excellence in funeral service. As well as maintaining excellent communication with the Senior Management Team, the PFD will be actively and directly involved in the day to day operation of funeral homes.
Arranging and conducting funerals, the PFD is a leader who will manage, motivate, train and develop colleagues at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s policies and procedures. The PFD will actively promote the business in the local community all in accordance with Company procedures, seeking out opportunities for the company to grow and develop.
With our customers as a priority, the PFD will maintain our unique culture and attitude to the provision of funeral service in all activities. PFDs lead by example.
Senior Funeral Director (SFD)
Working as part of the local management team, a Senior Funeral Director will have simultaneous responsibility for several branches working effectively to manage the team over multiple locations, deputising for the Principal Funeral Director as required.
In addition, a SFD will be actively and directly involved in the day to day operation of funeral homes, arranging and conducting funerals, maintaining computerised and paper office systems and promoting the business in the local community, all in accordance with Company procedures. The SFD is a leader who will work with the PFD to manage, motivate, train and develop colleagues at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the company’s ethos.
Maintaining our unique culture and attitude to the provision of funeral service in all activities a CPJ Field Senior Funeral Director will be required to join the out of hours rota system and to work flexibly in a tight knit team environment.
Funeral Director (FD)
An effective member of the local management team providing leadership and management whilst achieving excellence in funeral service.
The Funeral Director is actively and directly involved in the day to day operation of funeral homes, arranging and conducting funerals, managing staff, maintaining computerised and paper office systems and promoting the business in the local community, all in accordance with Company procedures. A FD will work with the leadership group to manage, motivate, train and develop colleagues at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the company’s ethos.
Maintaining our unique culture and attitude to the provision of funeral service in all activities, a CPJ Field Funeral Director will be required to join the out of hours rota system and to work flexibly in a tight knit team environment.
Trainee Funeral Director (TFD)
A Trainee Funeral Director will be actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the funeral homes, garages and workshops, the central diary and in assisting at other funeral homes as the need arises.
After an appropriate period of training a TFD will arrange and conduct funerals, maintain computerised and paper office systems and take a key rôle in promoting the business in the local community.
The TFD works under the direct guidance of the Principal Funeral Director and other members of the local management team. Working with that team a TFD will demonstrate leadership and an ability to assist colleagues in developing and growing in their rôles.
Upon successful completion of the National Association of Funeral Directors’ DipFAA a Trainee Funeral Director will be promoted to Funeral Director.
