Our Never Alone programme is designed to provide support for loneliness and other emotional and practical needs plus promote general wellbeing. We have recommendations to local groups who may be able to help you. Finding the right one that meets your needs or interests can be very fulfilling and truly boost your mood.

Social

Friendly, welcoming social groups can be relaxed and informal and offer the chance to chat and build new friendships.

We recommend local social groups and clubs for women and men which provide entertainment, conversation and a range of social activities.

Coffee Morning

An informal coffee morning meets on the third Thursday of each month at the Barn, in the St Mary’s Church Centre on the Causeway from 10.30am-11.30am. Come along and meet friends and make new friends too.

The North Horsham Friendship Club

It is aimed at local residents over 60 years of age who would like to meet up with others for a cup of tea and activities including entertainers, bingo, quizzes and talks. There are occasional outings to local places of interest. There is a subscription of £2 per session.

Coffee, Cake & Company

Join us anytime between 10am -12pm. Everyone is Welcome! Please note that this Event is in school term time only.

Lunch Club

Chat with a friendly company and hear a short 'thought for the day' too. Taking place on the second Thursday of each month (except August) at 12:45pm.

Arts & Crafts

Would you like to get stuck in with an arts project or learn a new craft?

There is so much choice when it comes to arts clubs from painting to pottery making. We can help you find the best group for you.

Craft Club

Craft Club meets the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of each month in the main hall between 2pm and 4 pm. It is a joint venture with the charity 4Sight. These crafts are developed and led by a professional craft expert.

Enjoying Art

No previous art knowledge needed - just an interest in discovering different ways to ‘see’ the world.

Walking

Walking is a popular choice both for relaxation and fitness. If you would like to get outside a little more, it can quickly become an enjoyable activity, and there are many groups in your area who would love you to join them for beautiful country walks.

Guided Wellbeing Walks

Free, sociable, and family friendly, our guided walks are a great way to see more of the District, increase your activity and meet new people. There’s no need to book, just turn up.

Horsham Heritage Walks

The walks are free and take place every Wednesday and Sunday. Meet the guide outside Horsham Museum in Causeway at 2.30pm. No booking is required.

Books

If you are interested in meeting fellow bookworms, there are reading groups in most towns for friendly discussions and thought-provoking debates. We can help pinpoint the perfect book group for you in your area.

Book Club

We are a small reading group with members from across the Parish, who meet 4 or 5 times per year, to discuss a range of books. All are welcome.

Reading Group: A Good Read

Meet up with others to talk about books and reading on the second Thursday of every month from 4.45pm - 6pm.

Hobbies

Having a wide choice of groups to pick up an old hobby or start a new one can be a wonderful way to meet new people with a similar interest to you.

We recommend local groups and clubs ranging from chess, bridge, poker, bingo, knitting, to bowls.

Relax with Colouring

Drop in to take part in this peaceful pastime which helps reduce stress and inspires creativity, every Wednesday 2.00 - 4.00pm.

Scrabble Group

Scrabble group on the second Monday of the month at a members home.

Knit and Natter

Drop in for a session of knitting and nattering, every Thursday from 2pm - 4pm.

Music & Theatre

Would you like to join an amateur dramatics group or a choir?

Exploring music can be good for the soul. You can join music appreciation classes or join the church choir. Dancing is also a wonderful way to meet new people and have fun.

St. Mary’s Parish Church Choir

We are a mixed choir – males and females of literally all ages. We are always delighted to welcome new singers of all abilities.

Big Notes Choir

Big Notes Choir is a community choir made up of music lovers of all ages and stages. There are no auditions in our choir and anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to join.
