In 2012, the Field family brought together five of the standout funeral directors in Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire, uniting them under the name Shires. From 2019 the Field family grew the offer in Bedfordshire adding a sixth funeral directors, located in Sandy. We operate funeral directors in Bedford, Luton, Dunstable, Letchworth, Baldock and Sandy. If you’re local, you’ve probably seen members of our team in our easily-recognisable fleet of grey Rolls Royce vehicles.

I’m a Funeral Home Manager for the Baldock and Letchworth funeral homes and within that role, I will take care of the needs of both funeral homes, my colleagues and the families we take care of. Arranging funerals, assisting with chapel visits and all that is involved with the arrangements. I’m also Community Champion for Shires Funeral Directors, engaging with local and national charities to either raise awareness for their charity or engage the local community for an appeal we are supporting and I’m a member of a local Women in Business Networking group.
I’ve worked in many Customer Service roles including the local District Council and Eastern Electricity (now known as Eon Plc). I also volunteered for Homestart Stevenage. I started as a Funeral Arranger with CPJ Field when the company first opened Shires, so have been here from the first day. Having worked in customer service for most of my working life, the skills I’ve learnt have been transferable, to ensure the families we look after are dealt with, with compassion and patience. We look after your loved one as if it’s our loved one. That is so important. I love spending time with my family and friends outside of work, and you would be surprised to know that I enjoy boxing (and chocolate!).

I have lived in Letchworth for nearly 30 years. I have held numerous customer service roles which led me to this position. I wanted to help people through the most difficult times. I was proud when I passed the Certificate in Funeral Arranging and Administration. My main ambition is to provide the best support for the families we care for.

I joined CPJ Field in November 2021 as a Funeral Service Team Member after spending 7 years as a teacher in a school for young adults with disabilities, which I also loved doing. I then became a Funeral Arranger and Administrator in November 2022.
It was honestly the best decision I have ever made, to jump into a career that was completely different to anything that I had ever done before. I can really say this is the best job in the world. I have enjoyed learning so many new skills here and working with lots of different families and supporting them in some of their darkest moments. I aim to support everyone I meet and show them nothing but kindness, support, love, and understanding and guide them through everything. I love to hear stories about people's loved ones and see lots of photos so I can really start to understand how special they are to the families who we are supporting. My role as a Funeral Arranger brings me a great sense of achievement when families come back and thank me for all my help through such hard times it really reminds me why I love this job so much.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, and I love spending my time with my friends and family. I am a mum to my gorgeous daughter Robyn. We enjoy shopping together, going to the park, and soft play.

I have been working with CPJ Field since 2017 but have lived in Baldock since 1975, so have seen many changes in the town over the years. I previously worked at a large supermarket in the town. It is a privilege to be able to help families through difficult times and hear stories about their loved ones. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends, especially if it involves tea and cake (I have a sweet tooth!) and enjoying the beautiful countryside that surrounds Baldock.
