In memory of

Kevin Arthur & Barbara Lina Hewson

Kevin, loving husband, father, and grandfather of his wife Barbara, his sons Adam and Luke, and his grandson Hector, died suddenly on Thursday 22nd February, 2018 at the age of 62.

Born at Hampton Court in 1955, Kevin grew up in greater London and married Barbara in 1980. He had a long and successful career in banking before retiring in 2013. It was in his retirement where Kevin began to spend his time doing what he loved; playing golf, taking vacations to far flung destinations, giving back to his community, and spending more time with his family.

In May 2015, Kevin was elected as a District Councillor to represent his home ward of Quainton where he served the local community where he has lived for many years. He was chairman of the Audit Committee, a member of the Development Management Committee, and represented AVDC on the Winwood Almshouses Trust. He was also a board member of Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust.

In addition to his work as a District Councilor, Kevin was a trustee of the Foyer Federation, an advisor for the Citizens Advice Bureau (2013-2016), and a board member for the Ministry of Justice's Independent Monitoring Board for HM Prison Spring Hill (2014-2015).

When Kevin wasn't serving his community he spent time with friends on the golf course and with his family. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandson Hector and would regularly arrange day trips to new adventures. For the last two years he has given his unstinting, loving support to Barbara in her battle with pancreatic cancer.

A thanksgiving service to celebrate Kevin's life will be held at 2pm on March 8th at the Holy Cross & St Mary Church in Quainton. It will be followed by a wake at the Buckingham Golf Club. The family ask that rather than flowers, donations are made to Pancreatic Cancer UK.

His loving family look forward to celebrating his life with all who can attend the memorial. They ask that everyone wear bright colours rather than black.
