Us Old Saltdeaneers are so sad to hear you decided to leave the gang and ride your Chopper elsewhere. We have shared many memories since hearing of your parting and the web of old friendships remains so intact after so many years. So many happy times together. Deepest sympathy to your family and loved ones. RIP xx

I’ve know Paul all my life! He along with a great group of friends shaped an amazing childhood that we all had growing up in Saltdean. The ‘Saltdean girls’ meet up a couple of times a year and we’ve been reminiscing along with the boys about Paul and how sad it is that the gang has lost a member.
I bumped into Paul now and then over the years and he always treated me with “Tracey Buckingham!” His boundless energy was a joy, his sense of humour infectious he will be remembered for ever not least for possibly one of the worst jokes I’ve ever heard about the Balloon Family! Rest in Peace Paul and much love to all your family, friends and colleagues. Tracey Buckingham

My Great Friend Chalky
Where do I start
Having been pals for over 44 years
The times we shared have been immense
Never a dull moment your zest for life was infectious I consider myself privileged to have had you as my friend
Death is that state in which one exists only in the memories of others
which in why there is not an end
No Goodbyes
Just Good memories
God Bless

Chalky you touched our lives in so many ways and made such a difference that life was better because of you. Your big personality, your humour, wit and silliness brightened the saddest of days. Your love, kindness, thoughtfulness, strength and bravery saw us through the toughest of times. You were an inspiration to all and your parting was far too soon. We will miss you so much, your daily chats, messages, jokes and weekly visits. They say a person only dies when the last person who loved them dies, so you will always be with us. We love you dearly Shifty and Gerly xxxx

It’s a very sad thing to be writing here and like most people I really don’t know where to start. You are and always will be in our hearts and never out of my thoughts, you were my best friend and I miss talking to you more than anyone can possibly imagine.
You were dedicated to your family, an amazing husband to the beautiful “Chalk” and the worlds greatest “Bear” to Niall and Niamh.
I would say RIP but that was never in your psyche ....you never properly rested a day in your life so now please now “go in peace” in no pain and watch over all of us who loved you x
