In memory of
Denise Donovan
On Sunday 1st March 2020, our wonderful mum and wife, Denise Donovan, passed away after losing her battle with mental illness which she had been fighting these last few months. As many of you will know, Mum was the kindest and most beautiful person, both inside and out, who loved her family and friends more than anything. She was funny, selfless and brought joy to everyone who knew her.
Mum’s death is such a heart-breaking loss and shock and is not something we will ever get over – she had so much more life and love to give. There aren’t the words to do Mum justice, but she was truly one of the best people you could hope to meet, and we are all so extraordinarily lucky we had her in our lives.
Private funeral service is taking place and we would like to invite people to make a donation to Mental Health Research UK in loving memory of our Mum. This is to help fund research into the causes, treatments, cures and prevention of mental illnesses to stop this happening to anyone else. Research into mental health is drastically underfunded and there are few mental health charities which focus on research. Most of the UK's major mental health charities concentrate on supporting those living with mental health problems; as worthy as these causes are, during her illness, Mum didn't feel able to access any of these services. Instead, we would like any money raised in loving memory of our Denise to go towards finding better, more effective ways to identify, treat, prevent and cure mental illnesses, specifically severe anxiety and depression.
