Hearing about Denise felt like a black hole had imploded inside me. I cannot comprehend how it must be for Martin, Kay, Lea, Kelly, Paula and all of her family and friends there.I was devastated to have to cancel my flight with the Virus restrictions, to not be able to pay my respects to Denise and offer some comfort, if possible, to everyone who cared for her. There were a lot of people who did. Denise was one of the Kindest, Sweetest souls I knew. And man did she make a mean Chicken and Ham pie. I’m sure others have mentioned it. She will be so sadly missed. When we left the UK for New Zealand we spent a weekend with Martin and Denise and it was always going to be a difficult goodbye. I am so grateful Keith and I got to spend time with you when we came home last September. After we heard the news here in NZ, we went to our local marina and did some reminiscing. We had spent a beautiful September lunch in Brighton, by the sea finishing our UK visit with you guys. Keith listened to me prattle on with memories. The Christmas’s we spent away and the New years eve’s spent at the Duke of Wellington, such great times. And at least one in the Purley wine bar. What a memorable place. The 12 monkeys film, remember Denise didn’t have a clue what was going on Martin. You called it. The Christmas mass in West Wickham where they told us we shouldn’t eat mince piesand we had to leave to get an Indian takeaway… The day at the dogs where we had waitress table service and Robbie Box was there and the summer days out at Ardingly. So many, many more memories but I’m glad to have them. Lots seem to be alcohol related, but that’s another story and I hoped to keep this short and sweet.I will always remember Denise with joy at the person she was and what she gave backto other people. Comfort is difficult now, but I hope time and with the love of all your friends and family, you will find some peace. Much Love to Martin, Kay and Lea.xxx
