Jonathan did very valuable work for Brighton Early Music Festival as a volunteer at many festival events over several years. All of us at the Festival have very fond memories of working with him, and we were particularly grateful for his role in helping Richard Davis with the sound arrangements at numerous concerts.
His wife Mel and all the family will be very much in our thoughts at this difficult time.

From Cathy Boyes, Mike Clemens and all the BREMF team.

Sending you all my deepest condolences during this difficult time.
I will always remember Rufus fondly and the memory that reminds me of him the most is the smell of the camping stove frying eggs in butter.
During our trip to Camping Rex I would awake early to this smell and join him for a simple and delicious breakfast whilst everyone else was asleep. These are precious memories, where we enjoyed each other’s quiet company, watching the day begin.

I hope the raw pain of this incredible loss passes swiftly for you all and becomes more bearable in time.

Sending love and healing wishes,
Lucy xx

I send my condolences to everyone present at Jonathan's ( always known that way at the Royal ) funeral today. I am so sorry I will not be able to be there myself.
Jonathan was a stalwart of the volunteers in the library and museum at the Royal Philatelic Society London where his excellent and dedicated work will be sorely missed.
May he find heavenly solace in a stack of philatelic literature, when the music stops !

I will always miss seeing Jonathan on my weekly visits to the Monday Club at the Royal Philatelic Society. He made me welcome into the Monday Club and was a wonderful source of information, always willing to help me plus a wicked sense of humour. I am sure you will organise Gods Library just as well.
