Despina Christina Papadopoulos
We never thought we’d have to write anything like this and we wish we didn't have to. We tragically lost our beautiful daughter, Despina (Des), on Sunday 8th November.
She battled anorexia for 24 years and with her mental health since she was just a small child. Despite her prognosis, she was so brave, strong and determined and she fought this wretched illness to the very end.
Des will always be remembered in our hearts for her extraordinary pure soul, her kindness, her sense of humour and her smile that could melt the hardest of people.
Des touched so many lives in so many ways. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure and she will always be loved beyond words and missed beyond measure by her family and friends.
In Des’s memory, our funeral directors will be accepting donations for our chosen charities in lieu of flowers. Our chosen charities are Young Minds and The Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, Brighton. Young Minds are the UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people's mental health. Their mission of supporting young people with their mental health no matter what, is at the core of our hearts. The Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity is our local parish. Des was always so grateful for her faith and it was what carried her and us through the darkest times and gave us all the strength we needed to carry on.
