Do you run a local group or club?
Do you run a local group or club? If you do, we need to call on your local knowledge.
As part of our Never Alone programme we are gathering information from our local community to create a comprehensive guide to local groups, clubs, and societies in towns, across the counties of Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey, and Sussex.
An important aspect of our Never Alone programme is the availability of and signposting to local groups. Our aim is to make it easy for people to find free information about friendly, welcoming groups in their locality, using our online search tool.
We hope to be able to cover all interests from rotary, golf clubs and holiday clubs, to music and singing groups, walking groups, bridge clubs, and much more. In order to create this comprehensive guide, we need you to contact us so we can add you to our list.
Recent research has shown that loneliness is prevalent across the country with nearly 4 million people in the UK saying they are often or always lonely. Bereavement, or a major a change in life circumstances such as unemployment or divorce are risk factors for loneliness. Encouraging and facilitating people to meet and have social interaction and conversation is what Never Alone is all about. New activities are essential to everyone’s wellbeing and the positive mental health benefits of finding places to go to meet like-minded individuals, to share a common interest or pastime, are endless.
It could be that you run a local book club, a music group, a painting class, or a sports club. If this is you, we would love to hear from you.

CPJ Field’s Never Alone
At such a difficult time, we fully recognise the periods of loneliness and the importance of embracing a new life whilst trying to move forward with courage. Our Never Alone programme is developed to offer practical help and emotional support to those feeling alone and provides different avenues to greater connection and new friendships. We provide online resources, community events, and local support groups and this is available online and within our funeral homes.
